Foster Grandparent Program

Purpose: To enable elderly persons to remain physically and mentally active by participation in needed community services for special and exceptional needs children.

Eligibility

• 60 years of age or older
• Meet FGP income criteria
• No longer in the work force
• Pass physical examination
• Accept supervision, as required
• Desire to service special needs children

Service Description

The FGP volunteers provide twenty (20) hours weekly services at 210 volunteer host institutions. i.e., daycares, schools, hospitals, youth facilities, shelter homes, etc.
